Well, this had been a week I will remember for a long long long time. My brother, Uncle M, announces that Miss K and he are having a baby. CONGRATULATIONS! A few days later, they announce they are getting married in 1 week... Holy Maj ole! Hyper over drive. Auntie K and I get dresses, which Miss K found in a Goodwill store 2 or 3 days before the wedding... surprisingly very nice. They almost perfectly fit and need a little steam and hemming. And yes, for everyone who knows me, that is Mommy in a Dress. There was mad scramble to get flowers, dresses, etc etc ready. I found a lastminute.com ticket for Grammy to fly out for the wedding very last minute. I booked her ticket on Monday morning and she arrived Tuesday night at midnight!
After many stories, skyping talks, and mailings... Little Miss meets Grammy. She knew who she was immediately. The two were joined at the hip for every moment they were together. Grammy was a little hesitant to use the word NO, since their time was so short... NO... say it with me Grammy... NO.
Uncle M married Miss K, now referenced as Auntie Kari... as Auntie K is taken. It was a very cute and simple ceremony. No kids, just adults and only a dozen at that. The atmosphere was thoughtful and light. For being planned in a week, I thought it was very nicely done. The guests, ok only Auntie K and I.. plus Auntie Kari's sister, were taking hilarious Vogue pictures while we waited for paperwork stuff. Charlies Angels, Lifted hem, blowing kisses.. and this great shot of Daddy pretending to kiss Mommy... very romantically blowing air instead of kissing. Very momantic Daddy.. Goof ball... Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Uncle M.
The reception was touching and all 7 kids were going crazy out back. It was a beautiful night and we had some very nice pictures taken. But alas, it was a school night, and Little Miss after 9pm is a very finicky creature that must be handled with care.
